Couple things I learned about English recently,
First, don't say "pissed" or "pissing" to people you just met, unless they are video production people. I said this word to a real estate agent and she seems shocked. That made me wonder if it's the wrong usage when I said "if I were the person who live downstairs, I will definitely pissed by the noise." But it is funny when I found that all directors i met said words like "fucking" "jerk off" and blahblah.
Second, by learning to drive, I tend to speak dirty words more frequently and more easily. When someone honked me while it is not necessary, I say, "fuck you." Of course I don't really want to do that, but it's just a way to express how upset I am.
Third, foreginers, especially Chinese and Taiwanese, tend to speak a lot of "yeah, yeah, yeah" during conversation. It becomes so unnatural and made the conversation plain. And it reminds me of Usher's song. Alrite, that's not the point, but I don't like to hear conversation like that, especially the person who speaks that "yeah yeah yeah" most of the time is a girl with plain looking and plain dress and a plain Asian face.
Oh I am so mean! that girl might be me sometimes. Who knows how other people look at me!

I think the reason why she's shocked was not necessarily because you had incorrect language usge. She might be surprised about your overreaction to the noise issue or she might be one of those who think "proper language" should be practiced to keep one's pride. I had American dudes/gals saying that to my face even if we were just acquaintances. So you gotta read the context as well as that person's personality. Real estate folks are pretty much like us in terms of interpersonal communications and restrictions in word usage. But like I said earlier, PR folks could talk dirty, if they feel like so.
As for the driving thing, you know what, it's OKAY to cut yourself some slacks. So DO IT! "Yeah?" there's actually the logics existing behind this word. When and how to use it would be the key to determining whether you're cool or not so cool using it. I think you should understand so I 'll just cut the crap here.
Most Americans, pathetically, tend to say this word in a pretentious way. The only reason they could get away with it was "this totally makes sense cuz they're americans." At least Asian people are working hard to be "sincere fools," rather than idiots who brag about their intelligence.
These people are too vulnerable to the outside world.
